PIKE IN THE NEWS

Pike received a Build New York award from the General Building Contractors of New York State for the Rehabilitation of the Albert R. Mann Library at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Pike's renovation of the building successfully created a seamless link between the original structure built in 1952 and an addition that was completed in 2000. The $24 million project encompassed 132,000 square feet of renovation, including the complete replacement of five stories and a basement with an open atrium. The project also included the demolition of the library's existing stacks, re-configuration of existing spaces and rehabilitation of the exterior facade. The Build New York Award winners are selected based on outstanding managing skills, imagination, overcoming challenging and unusual circumstances, scheduling accomplishments and project innovation by the contractor/manager and the entire project team including the project owner, architect, subcontractors and suppliers.
