The Pike Company provided construction management at risk services for Erie County Medical Center’s (ECMC) new 60,000 SF Trauma and Emergency Department. The project doubled the size of the existing 40-year old facility and features state-of-the-art technology and equipment for the region’s only Level I Adult Trauma Center ECMCC.
The project consisted of the addition of 50 emergency department treatment rooms, 4 trauma rooms, 6 care initiation stations and imaging with CTs and general x-ray. Also included in the expansion are staff offices, conference rooms, training rooms, locker rooms and staff lounges. The walk-in entrance is on the east side of the facility and has a drive under canopy and adjacent 50 car parking. The department also has a 10-bay covered ambulance entrance with gated access. Included within the expansion is the enclosure of the existing building overhang providing access back to the medical center’s main lobby.
