Pike provided construction services for the installation of a new Ingersol Rand 1000 HP, electrical motor driven compressor system at the operational Stagecoach Compression Station in Owego, New York.
The skid mounted cooling system includes pumps, motors, surge tank and piping installed near the compressor. Additional work included Hilti anchored equipment, refurbished foundations, piping, etc.
The owner required the installation of a skid mounted cooling system that is 24 feet long, 12 feet wide, 8 feet tall, and weighs in excess of 68 tons. It was initially requested that the hefty system be transported through an overhead bay, transported via cart to the mezzanine level, hoisted and mounted on top. Pike offered an alternative and more economical solution of installing the system via the removal of a section of roof and hoisting the compressor in with a crane, saving time on the project schedule & meeting the in-service date.
